ANNA SEQUOIA is the author of 10 non-fiction books, including the animal rights classic 67 WAYS TO SAVE THE ANIMALS (HarperPerennial), which was endorsed by philosopher/activist Peter Singer, and the best-selling humor book, THE OFFICIAL J.A.P. HANDBOOK (N.A.L.) .
Anna has served as Co-Chair of the Publishing Triangle, was a charter member of the National Book Critics Circle, and until recently was a member of the Editorial Board of Upper Hand Press. Anna’s editorial experience includes stints at Atheneum Publishers, Charterhouse Books, New Times Magazine and USA Weekend. She was the editor of Almanac Magazine, which received a Communication Arts Award for Excellence. Anna has also worked as Senior Creative Director for Product Promotion at Publishers Clearing House. Anna’s current writing project is a series of interconnected short stories about a Mafia-connected Jewish family.
Anna has been a Fellow at: Virginia Community for the Arts; the Ragdale Foundation; ArtFunkl, Manchester, U.K.; the Martha’s Vineyard Writers Residency; and the Writers Residency at Dairy Hollow. She has appeared on more than 100 radio and TV programs.
